Our Mission

Spring 2022, Janie attended Dr. Carla Shatz’ “Growing up in Science” talk at Stanford. As a woman beginning her own career in Neuroscience, Janie left the talk wishing for greater access to the kinds of advice and insights that Dr. Shatz had to offer.

Inspired, she started “Women of Science” to provide just that to young women and girls interested in STEM. Each post on our blog profiles a female-identifying individual in a scientific field with the goal of:

  1. Providing a repository of role models for those in search of guidance
  2. Giving voice to stories and careers otherwise unshared
  3. Honoring women who have acted as trailblazers in their fields

Know someone we should feature? We’d love to hear from ya!
